Villa Yosemite

Directions

From the North or West (San Francisco bay area): follow Interstate 580 E to 205, this will put you on 5 N to highway 120 E to Groveland and Yosemite Park. Stay 120 E to put you on 99 N for ½ mile then pick up 120 E again at the Manteca exit. When you reach Oakdale turn left on F street. Follow 120/108 E for approx 25 minutes , then turn right at the Yosemite 120E turn off. Follow the road for 20 to 25 minutes up the hill to Groveland. Go to the end of town and turn left at  Ferretti rd. Travel approx 4.5 miles. Look for yellow sign on right (Watch for Trucks). The next road on the left will be Boitano rd. Go left for exactly 1.7 miles staying left at all times, this will put you on a gravel road don't be fooled just stay left at all times.  Keep going until you see the the Villa Yosemite gates. (This note is for travel up the hill before you reach Groveland). If you are not towing a boat or trailer you can take Old Priest Grade up the hill into Groveland on hwy 120.  Or if you are towing keep going on 120 E which is a less severe grade.

If you are due north, in the Sierra foothills, you can take 49 south. This route passes through some lovely historic towns such as Sutter Creek, Jackson at the intersection of 49 and 88 (our preferred route to Lake Tahoe), Angels Camp at Highways 49 & 4, the turnoff to a fun-filled day in Murphy's and Calaveras Big Trees State Park and finally Sonora and Jamestown, a bit before the turnoff to Groveland on Highway 120.

Mapquest has recently updated their Groveland area database and is now a very good resource for printable maps. Coming from points west, their directions are excellent.

If you are flying: into the Groveland airport, call ahead of time so ART can pick you up from the airport. Art is also a pilot and would love to see your bird and talk airplanes. 510-541-0047

Arrivng from the South: From the south the online mapping companies continue to recommend exiting highway 99 at Fresno to 41 to 49—We do not think this is a good plan unless you are test driving a Porsche and want to experience the curves and cliff edges of the foothills for a thrilling ~60 miles. Instead, stay on 99 north to 120 east for a far less heart-wrenching route, or at Merced you can cut north on J59, but have a good map to follow, this shortcut is not well marked once you get off the highway. If it isn't high summer season, consider a drive through Yosemite on 41 via Fresno/Oakhurst. This route isn't much of an extension of time and you can spend your part of the day touring the park.
